Collecting data and distributing over Ethernet leads to many new possibilities. The Pilot-CAN is available augmented with a small Ethernet module that connects to its internal serial port. In the configuration editor, you only need to add an Ethernet config item and then provide a (local or remote) server name and TCP/IP socket (for example, 80 would be for normal HTML web servers) for the Ethernet to connect to. The default configuration for the Ethernet is to output ASCII data in the JSON format - there is more detail about this on the ASCII Serial page.
